At the Feet of the Masters - Martial Arts Mentors and Apprentices in East Asia
Bill commenced his study of Asian fighting arts in 1969 in Melbourne, Australia. In the early 1980s he travelled to Japan and later China training, competing and learning about life, Asian cultures and languages and the part they play in the traditional fighting arts of Asia.
His hard work, determination and fighting spirit quickly won the respect of many combat masters of Japan and China, several of whom would later become lifelong friends and mentors.
This is the story of a man who was given up for dead by doctors at thirteen, who became a drifter without any particular focus and who was brought full circle by the culture and fighting masters of two ancient civilizations. It is also the story of wonderful people - the men and women who study and teach the traditional Asian fighting arts to any genuine seeker with the right spirit.
